Coir Seed Starting Kit: 50 Pellets, 20 Discs and a Coco Peat Brick
Overview
Everything you need to start seeds in clean, peat-free coconut coir, from sowing to transplant. Sow in the netted 30 mm pellets, pot your seedlings up with the 60 mm discs, and use the coco peat brick to fill bigger pots when they are ready to move on.
What's inside
- 1 pack of 50 coir seed starting pellets, 30 mm, netted (each swells to a plug of about 40 ml)
- 2 packs of 10 coir discs, 60 mm (each swells to about 120 ml of loose coir, about 2.4 liters in all)
- 1 coco peat brick, 650 g, OMRI Listed (expands to about 10 quarts)
How to use
- Sow. Set the pellets in a tray, add warm water and wait 5 to 10 minutes. Sow one or two seeds in each plug.
- Pot up. When seedlings have their first true leaves, soak the discs, break them apart and move each plug into a small pot of loose coir.
- Transplant. Soak the brick in about half a gallon of warm water for 30 to 40 minutes, fluff it by hand and use it to fill larger pots, or blend it with compost before planting out.
Tip: coir is clean and nearly nutrient-free, so start feeding seedlings with a diluted fertilizer once their true leaves appear.
